10 military personnel receive epaulets in Bui

Ten military personnel of the Gendarmerie and army in Kumbo, Bui Division on October 1, 2014 received epaulets ranging from the ranks of warrant officer to corporals in chief.

The ceremony which was purely military in style was presided over by the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO for Bui, Theophile Nzeki, who was flanked by the Company Commander of the Gendarmerie for Bui, Major Akono Claude and the BIR Commander for Bui, Donga Mantung and Noun Divisions, Captain Koung Ambadjiang as well as the Divisional Officer for Kumbo Central Subdivision, Francis Nkamto Ndifon, the second Assistant Prefect for Bui, Brice Meke Olinga and the heads of Forces of Law and Order in Bui Division.

The ceremony started with the reading of the Ministerial decision of appointment by the Minister Delegate of Defense at the Presidency, followed by the placing of the epaulets on the shoulders by the SDO for Bui, the Company Commander of the Gendarmerie in Bui Division. Michel Fokoum was raised to the rank of a warrant officer, Apolinaire Adamou as a Sergeant, while Benet Messrs Orock, Ambanegut, Richard Lela, Christopher Simke, Keyache, Fopa Bernand, Njowe and Ketu John were raised to the ranks of Corporals in Chief.

The SDO congratulated those who received the epaulets for working hard to distinguish themselves for the award and urged those who did not receive to emulate the example of their colleagues and work harder to merit the award. He exhorted them to take their assignments seriously and to be watchful and vigilant against the threats of the Boko Haram sect and Ebola virus.

The BIR commander, Captain Koung Ambadjiang, in a brief interview with the Press said he is very satisfied with the discipline of his elements and the handwork they are carrying out. He encouraged those who have been lazy to emulate their colleagues and work harder. Captain Koung called for the collaboration of the entire population stressing that their actions depend very much on the information given by the population.

The Company Commander of the Gendarmerie, Major Akono, called on the Bui population to collaborate with the Forces of Law and Order to fight the common enemy Boko Haram and Ebola outbreak. The commander of troops for the day was warrant officer Bennet Yuyun Laye. The march past that brought the occasion to an end was animated by the Kumbo Council band.
