Ten Cameroonian soldiers were found dead Friday, following an attack by the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram in the locality of Bagaran, in the region of Logo and Chari, in the extreme north region along the corridor leading to Chad and Nigeria.

This border zone with Nigeria, which experienced a large reinforcement with military men and arms two months ago, is home to hundreds of refugees from the other side, and has regularly been faced with bloody attacks and hostages by the sect.

On July 11, the Bounderi gendarmerie brigade suffered an attack from Boko Haram that eventually led to the dead of a police Constable while a vehicle was taken away.

On 7 June, the rapid intervention battalion (BIR), an elite army unit, killed 118 members of the sect to Tourou, near Mokolo while they lost two of their men.

The fight against the sect proves is getting tough, especially as several of its members have infiltrated the civilians and refugees.
