Bello Bouba Maigari, Minister of State in charge of Tourism and Leisure
Officials of the Central and Decentralised services of the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure have taken part in their annual conference.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang chaired the opening session of the meeting this 1st September, 2015 in Yaounde.
During the conclave, the Minister of State in charge of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari called on officials to design measures geared at securing tourism in Cameroon before, during and after the two Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon is preparing to host.
Participants at the meeting deliberated on the execution of the resolutions and recommendations of the 11th session of the board.
Security issues were also discussed especially with threats from the Boko Haram insurgency which seem to affect the country’s tourism sector.
At the end of the meeting, a call was made on Cameroonians to invest in tourism and leisure, a domain which will bring in huge economic proceeds to the country.
