The New Bell Prison School, led by the Charity-Social-Humanitarian association (CHASOH), was at the centre of activities marking the Week for the International Day of the African Child June 13.

Food donations such as rice were prominent features during a ceremony to issue Report Cards to 18 minors who came to the end of course on arts, painting and alphabetization.

While handing over the donations and Report Cards, the Regional Delegate of Social Affairs, Edjoa Jean Pierre, said the prison education was just step in the process of reinserting the prison minors in society at a time all school-going children are on summer holidays.

He thanked CHASOH for fulfilling its mission to offer moral, professional and educative support to the prison minors who are in conflict with the law.

On her part, the President of the association, Magne Tagne Tapia, revealed their commitment to ensure that the children are not deprived of their rights to education and professional skills despite their being behind bars.
