According to the assessment made by the team of coordination of activities completed Sunday in Douala, the 1st part for the celebration of centenary of the martyrs was successful.

To register in the memory of the population, including the Cameroonian youth, the need to know where they come from and also, documenting the history of the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century in our part of the world was the dual purpose of this special celebration, entitled 'The centenary of the 1914 resistance ', which was completed Sunday by an ecumenical worship at the Place du gouvernement in Douala, after commemorations were launched Wednesday, August 6.

Testimonies were heard from descendants of fallen resistance fighters in August 1914, including the Chief Endande, grandson of Endande Mbita who came from abroad, and the granddaughter of Mba Ename, who made the trip from Yaoundé.

Another highlight, Prince Kum'a Ndumbe III, came with documents delivered by the granddaughter of Mr. Levy, a German Jewish lawyer. These documents are acts of the trial where his grandfather, as lawyer for the natives, defended Dika Mpondo.

It also retained the case of the 90 children who intoned the song Tet'Ekombo before the tomb of Rudolf Douala Manga Bell. While waiting for November 2014, scheduled for the second part of the celebrations of the centenary of the martyrs, the remains of the first Act are still present through the exhibition "Ça-me-dit Martyrs" at Doual'art.
