The said students had an exchange with the special adviser to the Prime Minister Thursday in Yaounde concerning the internship. Facing the 20 interns from State universities and other schools, including the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon (IRIC), the special adviser to the Prime Minister. Prof. Touna Mama enlightened students on the process and implementation, relating it to the actual decentralization process that has been ongoing since 2010.
He reminded them that "the public policy of decentralization was consecrated by the basic law promulgated on January 18, 1996 by the president of the Republic."
While he was elaborating further the concept to the students, the special adviser to the Prime Minister stated that an effective and efficient decentralization strategy is envisaged. "I believe your respective backgrounds will be of relevance here. The results of your research could, where appropriate, contribute significantly to the development of the strategy", he stated.
He therefore invited them to shows seriousness at various stages of the internship and training that they are called upon to perform at the national Council of decentralization.
