Some 6000 examiners have been invited for the exercise following the end of the written part.
The practical and written parts of the 2013 session of examinations organised by the Cameroon GCE Board has come and gone with no major hitches recorded. The 154,913 candidates who sat for the exams for both the ordinary and Advanced Levels drew the curtains last Wednesday June 12, in centers across the nation.
Speaking to CT on telephone, the Registrar of the Cameroon GCE Board, Sir Humphrey Ekema Monono, expressed satisfaction for the hitch free conduct of the exams. "No two examination sessions are the same", he noted, stating that the just ended session witnessed an increase in the number of candidates, the examination materials but rather less cases of malpractices. A few hitches mostly cases of materials inadequacies were quickly harnessed by the ever ready personnel, he maintained. "Everything was done right. I am Satisfied that it came and passed. I think even the candidates are satisfied", the Register affirmed.
The Registrar also revealed that marking of the scripts begins on Monday June 24 in all the marking centres of Buea and Bamenda. Some 6000 examiners have been invited for the exercise while some 3000 young Cameroonians have been temporary recruited to serve at the marking secretariat. The secretariat is already putting in place materials for effective marking to begin. However, some four candidates were arrested and detained in the North West region for impersonation.
