2014 GCE Practicals kick off without hitches

This will be followed by the written part to begin on May 26, 2014. Thousands of candidates across the country yesterday Tuesday May 6, 2014 started the practical part of the 2014 session of end of course examinations organised by the GCE Board. While Advanced Level students began with Chemistry practical, Ordinary Level students kicked off with Food and Nutrition.

Reports from examination centres across the South West Region indicate that the examination started off hitch free. At the Government Bilingual High School Tiko, an accommodation centre that also hosts GBHS Mutengene and Tiko External, the Chief of Centre and Principal of the school, Mrs Lyonga Cecilia told CT that the first session started off smoothly at 8 am given that all necessary materials and logistics were put in place on Friday.

On his part, the chief supervisor for the Chemistry practical in the GBHS Tiko Accommodation Centre, Dr. Divine Mbom corroborated the principal stressing that no concerns have been raised since the kickoff of the practical session Monday morning.

Asked on the state of mind of candidates, the supervisor said most candidates have shown signs of preparedness. When CT visited some of the examination centres, the candidates were in full session which made it difficult to get their appraisal of the practical exams by press time.
