The Ministries of Secondary and Basic Education have published the calendar for the 2016-2017 academic year in Cameroon.
According to the new calendar, the 2016-2017 academic for all public and private schools in the Republic of Cameroon shall begin on Monday September 5, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. and end on Friday July 28, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.
The school year shall be sub6divided into six teaching and evaluation sequences. The sequences shall be interspersed with two periods of break.
The periods of break shall be as follows: from Friday December 23, 2016 to Monday January 9, 2017 for the first break and the second from Friday March 31, 2017 to Monday April 17, 2017. Holidays for boarders shall end on the eve of the school reopening day before 6:00 p.m.
The period set aside for officialS shall run from Monday June 5 to Friday July 14, 2017 for primary education, from Thursday May 25, 2017 for secondary technical education and from Monday May 29 to Friday July 28 for secondary general and teacher training.
Dates for the conducts of these examinations shall be made public by decisions signed by the Minister of Basic Education or the Minister of Secondary Education, each in their own sphere.
