They ended a training course last Thursday at the Camp Yeyap School in Yaounde.

24 non-commission officers of the National Gendarmerie on Thursday July 27 received Technical Aptitude Certificate dubbed CAT2 TD after a four-month training course on data transmission at the High Command For Schools and Training Centres, Camp Yeyap in Yaounde. Presiding over the end-of-course ceremony, the Inspector General at the National Gendarmerie, General Roland Mambou Deffo urged the recipients to show proof of what they have learned in school at their different gendarmerie post especially as methods are being put in place to vulgarise the use of satellite within the corps.

Speaking to the out-going students, General Mambou Deffo stressed "you have to be available at your post of work and show proof of responsibilities because absence from your post of work could cause a huge problem when information is not registered and transmitted". He further urged the young gendarmes to be discret with professional matters an obligation in the corps, as well as ensure the maintenance and protection of the equipment they will be using to work which is very costly to the State.

According to the trainer, Captain Lameu, who is the Commander at the Transmission Centre of the Gendarmerie, the gendarmes did not only use training on how to collect and transmit data but also on how to carry out primary work on the machines they will be using if they go bad. From March 26th and July 26th the gendarmes were also trained on discipline and morality as a watchword in carrying out their duty.
