3 Fako lawyers seek position in Bar Executive Council

Three lawyers, members of the Fako Lawyers Association (FAKLA), have indicated their interest to occupy three of the 15 positions in the executive council of the Cameroon Bar Association.

Barristers Charles Njualem, Ebah Ntoko and Enow Benjamin made their intentions known last Friday November 21, 2014 during a dinner in Tiko offered in their honour.

FAKLA president, Barrister Stanislaus Ajong said the three are among the finest grains in the legal society in Fako and even in Cameroon. He urged his peers to support their own to gain a place in the executive council of the bar so that their interest can be protected at such high level.

Speaking during the dinner, Barrister Enow Benjamin said it is time for all Lawyers to guarantee a united Bar Association at the end of elections into the Bar Council billed for January 31, 2015.

Enow who is Administrative Head of Liberty Law Firm and Vice President of FAKLA is widely travelled. He is a graduate from the Abuja Campus of the Nigerian Law School and holder of a Masters’ Degree in International relations.

Ajong described Barrister Ntoko as a fine, tried and tested legal luminary, one who can withstand pressure and deliver results. He opined that Ntoko is more than a servant and is ready to serve at all times.

Taking his turn, Barrister Charles Njualem, Hon. Special representative of the Bar President in Ndian, Fako and Kupe-Muanenguba said he should be given another opportunity to serve the Bar and that in six years, he will make way for others.

Njualem who is head of Human Rights Law Firm is the pioneer president of FAKLA and present head of the Human Rights Commission of FAKLA.

Ajong describes Njualem as a man that can be counted on by all lawyers in Fako.

“You can count on him at any hour of the day when it comes to the fight for rights. He wants to renew his mandate at the Bar. It is time for us to again renew our trust in him because he has made us proud,” Ajong said.

In what became a closing statement, Ajong enjoined his peers to stand behind the three legal luminaries, pronouncing on behalf of FAKLA unalloyed support to the trio.

The dinner was attended by former Bar President, Barrister Eta-Besong.
