Bolloré Africa Logistics, Cameroon leader and promoter of the 1st line of electric buses in Central Africa, announced on 27th January the gift of a 3rd electric bus at the University of Yaoundé I.
This announcement was made at the end of a hearing accorded a delegation of Bolloré Africa Logistics led by Hon. Hamadou and Mohamed Diop, Coordinator Cameroon/Chad and Director of the Region of Gulf of Guinea respectively.
According to a communqiue from group Bolloré Africa Logistics, the gift of this 3rd bus will enhance transport capacity of the line of electric buses in the University of Yaoundé I.
Put in service May 2, 2014 by Mr Philémon Yang, head of Government, the first two electrical buses have already transported over 540,000 passengers with an average of 2,000 students transported daily between May 8, 2014 and on 26th January, 2015, with more than 6,600 rotations.
Building on this success, the 3rd electric bus will provide students of Ngoa-ekelle with greater flexibility at a rate of faster rotation on campus circuit and thus accelerate mobility of students safely within the University.
This free transportation of students and teachers operates from 7:30am to 9:00 pm on a distance of 5Km.
