42nd National Day preparations heat up nationwide

The morning traffic around the omnisport stadium in Yaounde is just another reminder that preparations for the 42nd National day is gradually heating up.

According to correspondent reports, the populations of most administrative headquarters can feel the heat as the military and school pupils cluster for march pass rehearsals.

Organised under the theme “Army and Nation, in synergy for the preservation of peace and security, crucible of integration, stability and economic development”, honour was given to the population of Kye-Ossi in the Ntem Valley division as Youth Affairs and Civic Education Minister travelled to this frontier town to launch activities leading up the celebrations.

On the occasion, Minister Bidoung Mkpatt saluted the spirit of peaceful co-existence demonstrated by Cameroonians living in this town, a gateway into Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

He said the President of the Republic has instructed competent officials to assist in the socio-economic development of the town. The Minister made an offer of farm inputs and food items to the population.

The launching was witnessed by some top government officials including the Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Louis Paul Motaze , Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, Jules Doret Ndongo and South Regional Governor, Jules Marcellin Ndjaga.
