The 4th symposium of African Chiefs of staff of the air forces ended Thursday in Douala. The participants in the 4th symposium of the chiefs of staff of African air forces learned a lot among themselves, indicated Brigadier general Jean-Calvin Momha Thursday at the close of this meeting.

The meeting had the theme "development of an African strategy of air power in line with operational requirements, current and future.

We separate but remain enriched by what we learned during this symposium", said the Chief of staff of the Cameroonian air army, after having indicated that Cameroon is currently experiencing the need for this kind of cooperation, due to threats to peace being registered on its territory.

Threat knows no borders, and everyone can be exposed if adequate and prevention measures are not taken, says the US General Lt Darryl Roberson.

"We face the same threats", he said to the press at the end of the closing ceremony. More reason for the different States to mutualize their efforts, reflect on common security strategies, and the promotion of an effective air tool.

Among other objectives, the symposium, co-hosted by Cameroon and the United States, was aimed at encouraging fruitful contacts between the various heads of staff of African armies, to consider the conditions for an establishment of a sub-regional and regional genuine synergy, to promote the institutionalization of a framework between African airmen, etc.

At the end of the work, Cameroon chose to occupy, for one year, the symposium secretariat.
