At least five Cameroonians were killed Thursday during an attack which occurred in the North of Cameroon, whose perpetrators are believed to be members of the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram.

Some 30 houses were burned by the attackers. The attack took place in a village in the Borough of Mokolo (extreme north), close to the border with Nigeria, reported a source.

The attackers had time to finish their operation before the intervention of Cameroon defense and security forces. Two days earlier, three soldiers from the battalion of motorized infantry of Cameroon were killed and five others wounded in the explosion of a landmine in Amchide (extreme north of Cameroon).
