After the financial deficit of 48 million CFA francs in the Cameroon postal service Meïgang (Campost), a deficit of 51,717,279 CFA francs has just been discovered in the Bankim Agency. The receiver of this agency, Ms. Alimatou Nkéré has been missing for nearly a month.

"It's the money that these people often lend to their friends with a certain percentage on the repayment. When control passes and reimbursement is not made, it is normal that they are accused of embezzlement of public funds', said our source.

Approached, the regional delegate of Campost, M. Issia, did not wish to expand on the subject. "We have not yet completed the investigation, so I can't say more. The gendarmerie is still on the record and we also have a field monitoring mission," he said.

"Aside from these two cases of embezzlement, the Adamawa Campost agencies are no exceptions. According to sources close to the company, the practice of usury is commonplace among policymakers of Campost in Adamawa, which are quietly from the coffers of the company. The same sources believe that controls at the enterprise services are very often complicit in this practice. "In microfinance that provides money transfer services in the region, control of funds is done daily.

"At the end of each day, the Manager must meet and make round ups. Before leaving, everyone has to know how much there is in cash and how much is missing. But in, Campost, one has the impression that some officials do not work. They wait for months before going to the field, and it gives free rein to those who hold funds and who thus engage in illicit practices, and often with the complicity of the controllers," claimed a source.

Last September, the receiver for the Agency of Meiganga, Ousmanou Nana confessed to have distracted the sum of 48 million CFA francs. He is incarcerated in the prison of Meiganga since September 25, 2014.
