577 Fresh Police Inspectors Commissioned

The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, has instructed the 577 fresh first grade Police Inspectors graduated, last 10th August, from the Police School (CIAP) in Mutengene to mobilise a ferocious and sustained fight against banditry, child and drug trafficking, corruption, cyber criminality as well as telephone harassment.

Martin Mbarga Nguele was speaking in the Police School campus in Mutengene as he chaired the passing out ceremony of the latest Police Inspectors promoted from Police Constables in 2009, 2010, and 2011. On the occasion, the National Police Boss, flanked by South West Governor Okalia Bilai and several top Administrative and Military Officials, reiterated the need for a modern Police force equipped and trained to face crime sophistication as well as becoming actors and references for Cameroon's attainment of emergence by 2035. Mr. Mbarga Nguele also proceeded to hand over letters of encouragement to 23 distinguished staff of CIAP Mutengene.

The Police Inspectors graduated in Mutengene last Friday are part of the 625 in-service Police Constables initially called (promoted) to train and up-grade their ranks at the Mutengene Police Training School. The Director of CIAP Mutengene, Commissioner of Police Monkouop Mouminou, explained that of the lot, 582 effectively began training and 43 refused to avail themselves. During training, one trainee died of illness, three were liberated having succeeded in the competitive entrance into the National Advanced Police School Yaounde to train as Assistant Superintendents of Police, three disappeared for unknown motives, two were evacuated for illnesses, one suffered a road accident perturbing his whole training, and three woefully failed the course.

Mr. Monkouop Mouminou underscored that the course entertained theories, techniques and practices. The first phase for theories and techniques spanned from 24 September 2011 to 14 April 2012 and the second phase, dedicated to practicals, ran from 22 April to 14 July 2012 in the various Police units of the country.
