67 vehicles seized for fake documents in the West Region

An inspection mission deployed in Bafoussam has confiscated 67 vehicles for a number of reasons including fake documents.

Organised by the Delegation of Public Security to track clandestine transporters, the six hour operation was very telling of the indiscipline that reigns within the sector.

Vehicles ply the road, with fake car documents, no car plates, no road worthiness certificates and so on.

At this pre-repressive stage of the campaign, the owners were summoned to pay a penalty before the vehicles could be released.

According to Police Superintendent Mbankwene Simon, the campaign has been organised to enhance discipline in the sector and protect road users from harassment.

The campaign which was organised by the Regional Delegation for public security brought together officials from the Ministry of Transport, Gendarmerie and police, representatives of the National syndicates of transporters and workers of the Bafoussam City Council.
