An Ordinary General Assembly of the Ad Lucem Foundation in Cameroon took place on Saturday February 22, 2014 in Yaounde. It was an opportunity for the Ad Lucem family to evaluate work done, identify the problems facing the foundation and find possible solutions.
Speaking at the opening, the Board Chair of Ad Lucem Foundation, Madeleine Tefack said the major problem facing the foundation is that of payment of contributions to the National Social Insurance Fund and the payment retirement benefits of workers. She expressed the wish that the subventions given to the foundation be increased taking into consideration the place it occupies in the health system in Cameroon.
On his part, the Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda congratulated Ad Lucem Foundation Cameroon for their significant contribution in rendering health accessible to all social categories in six regions in Cameroon notably the Centre, South, West, South West and Far North. He said the government is preoccupied by difficulties faced by the private sector and has decided to carry out non-profit negotiations on the situation of the social debt of private networks.
He called on the participants to work with serenity and calm in order to follow up and patronise the social works began in 1936 by the founder of Ad Lucem. He also used the occasion to announce a sub-regional forum on health on June 5 to 6, 2014 in Yaounde which will bring together Ad Lucem Foundation, the Catholic Health Organisation in Cameroon, the Council of Protestant Churches in Cameroon and the national network of Muslim Health Training Centres.
During the deliberations, participants examined the report of activities of the report of activities of 2011 and 2012, the financial report and election of a new bureau of the Ad Lucem Foundation in Cameroon.
