Thierry Batoum Ba Nyobè protests against his suspension by the Minister of higher education and the Rector of the University of Yaoundé 1.

Thierry Bambo Ba Nyobé has been on hunger strike since Monday, December 15, 2014. The president of the Association for the defence of the rights of students in Cameroon (ADDEC) made his camp outside the headquarters of the Ministry of higher education, in Yaoundé.

The student carried posters written: "'Cancel decisions of exclusion of Batoum Ba Nyobè and Tchaleu Demanga', 'ADDEC said no to the scamming of students, to the illegal rise in University fees at the University of yaounde 1 from 50 to 56,000 Cfa Francs'".

Batoum Ba Nyobè calls for the lifting of the measure of suspension of two years against his comrade and him by the Minister of higher education and the Rector of the University of Yaoundé I.

They blamed the leaders of the ADDEC for 'non-compliance with the administrative authorities, acts of fraud, the display and distribution of leaflets and incitement to disobedience'.

The two leaders were also arrested by the police before being released later.
