The High Commissioner responsible for human resources, science and technology recently paid a working visit to the Prime Minster and Head of Government, Philemon Yang.
The meeting between Paul Martial Ikounga and Philemon Yang allowed the head of the African Union, with its host, to discuss on the implementation of the decisions taken by the conference of Ministers of Education (COMEDA) held in Yaoundé from 21 to 25 April 2014 and those from the last Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union held in Malabo in Equatorial Guinea a few weeks ago.
« It was good that I come and get an account on what has been going on. I was very pleased that the PM kindly received me and permitted me to give and take accounts on the work we have done so far and ask for support from the President of the mandate office because, COMEDA comes at a very important time where it is necessary to implement the continental strategy on technical education and vocational training in which we must carry out a study on the formation and the conditions of work and life of teachers, and also the African strategy on science and technology," he said at the end of the meeting.
Paul Martial Ikounga also said that his meeting with the head of the Government came after he met all heads of ministerial departments in charge issues of education and the Minister of scientific research and Innovation.
