In Yaounde, the number of travelers seeking to patronise buses have multiplied since Friday in the aftermath of the end of year holidays.
At the Mvan bus station, almost every thirty minutes, a bus takes off. Many travelers came very early in order to get a seat on the bus. Queues continue to grow longer as the hours pass and in some companies, buses are already scarce.
This bus station serves the cities of Douala, Buea, Ebolowa, Sangmelima, Bertoua, Ngaoundéré, in the regions of the Littoral, Southwest, South, East, Adamawa respectively. Thus getting a seat on the bus has become a challenge.
Passengers are stranded with some hanging around corners, sitting on their luggage or standing in queues. "I have been here since 6 o'clock in the morning and I managed to pay for my ticket. But they made me understand that three transport buses are full. So I have to wait for the arrival of a bus. I must travel today because I have a test at school tomorrow," a student from Bamenda decried.
