Though the visit of His Excellency President Paul Biya to the South West region for the reunification of Cameroon is still being evaluated, handicapped persons in Kumba, Meme Division have complained of marginilisation and shabby treatment by both the CPDM and other government officials that invited them to Buea.

Comfort Fese Makia, the president of Happy Disabled women who participated in the March pass for CPDM Meme IA with headquarters in Kumba I, told this reporter that she and other disabled persons, were shabily treated in Buea by the local CPDM officials and the officials in the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Fese, who was speaking to this reporter in Kumba on Tuesday March 12, 2014, added that only 1000frs was given to the disabled persons in Buea though she did not say how much she and the other disabled or CPDM militants were promised upon leaving Kumba.

What mostly irked Fese was the fact that disabled persons could not be received by Chantal Biya as they were told before leaving Kumba for Buea.

She further told this reporter that after returning to Kumba from Buea on the first day, the disabled were invited to come to Buea the next day inorder to be received by Chantal Biya, adding that even when the disabled returned to Buea the next day, Chantal could not receive them.

The handicapped, thanks to a kindhearted military man paid their transport fare back to Kumba, she added.
