Mon, 23 Sep 2013 Source: camer.be

In the city of Essen where she lives for 9 years about, Mrs. Mukete Delphine Epote belongs to the very small category of cameroonian women who draws people´s attention in three domains: church, philanthropy and gastronomy.

Madonna African Restaurant, opened in 2009, mainly " the over 40 years old" Evenings in this premises in coming November in partnership with the Veterans NRW, give us the opportunity to focus our attention to this always smiling face, another pride of a positive Cameroonian diaspora in Germany.

How do you feel after receiving the veterans NRW association in your restaurant?

I feel so happy and I feel so honour specially the souvenir gift I received from the veteran NRW´s president "Pa´a Matip" and it was a higher surprise: I didn't expect such a gift from them. I feel so honour that I have my elders here, distinguished gentlemen from Cameroonian community known as the veterans NRW.

I don't know how I can express my appreciation and my happiness, but from the bottom of my heart, i´ll say i´m so glad and i´ll ask God to continue to bless them, to bless the members of their family, to bless their businesses and also to make the group to be an example of honourable African men, so that people can learn example, that we can come together to relax and respect one and other also.

What do you expect from the veterans NRW and why did you move to them?

I saw veterans NRW as people I can gain wisdom and knowledge beside that they are elderly people and responsible people, they are intellectuals, they are graduates also. I went to them because, as elders in the cameroonian society and among africans , I need also their support in whatever I am doing. So, I believe 100% they would not give me their support, but they would give me their wisdom and knowledge.

What do you plan to do with Veterans NRW in the coming months?

The package which I have unveiled to the veterans NRW and my sponsors, they are the backbone of the "over 40 years old" Evenings at Madonna African Restaurant which are coming out in November 2013. So this is the package I have for elderly gentlemen among the African society from different nationalities, but precisely veterans NRw, who are present here today, are my sponsors and backbone of this project. They are the one pushing me to carry the flag of this project so that others should learn and see people of this age and class.

Tell us something about Madonna African Restaurant

Madonna African Restaurant was opened on Janaury 1, 2009 in Altendorfer street 245 in Essen and is a restaurant that brought a change in the african kitchen. It´s also in to party service or you can eat , be a guest at your party where you can order food regardless of the number of people.

You have a buffet from different varieties, from different nationalities where even the Germans can have a taste of what the African kitchen is all about. But precisely, i decided to increase and improve the standards of the African kitchen. That has brought a positive competition among the African restaurant in Essen.

Everybody is struggling to keep her restaurant clean to attract also white people. So Madonna African Restaurant is not only for Africans, it´s also for white people, so that African can taste our food and also know that we can learn from them and become better.

Are they any particular reasons which lead you to invest in gastronomy?

Naturally i think I would say, I have this quest of always to do things so quiet different. So I decided to produce the concept Madonna African Restaurant, a combination of Chinese and the German relation of the standards cleanliness, order and something different, because I love to put smile on people´s faces.

When people eat my food and I see smile on their faces, it makes me happier than not only the money they give me. But I also expect criticisms , some corrections from them, that makes me better.

Who is Mrs. Mukete Delphine Epote?

My names are Mukete Delphine Epote; I come from Cameroon, from the south-west region, specially from the bakossi tribe. I was born and brought up in Kumba and I cam into Germanny where I leave for 8 to 9 years now. I am somebody who loves to bring changes into the society, to put smile on the faces.

I also have philanthropic program I do. I take care of orphans and widows back at home. So whatever I get from the society or from the restaurant, I also do charity during Christmas and during Easter. So that´s what I can say about me.
