Timothée Bisso Eto’o on October 16 put before the regional division of the judicial police in the South in Ebolowa a complaint against Wangui Nyassiri, the sub-prefect of Ambam.

This well-known cocoa purchaser in the region accused the administrative authority of 'threats, unlawful detention and abuse of property of others (cocoa, official documents and car records)'.

On October 11, while aboard a pick-up truck carrying 21 bags of cocoa, Timothée Bisso Eto’o was arrested at the exit of the Borough of Ma’an by the sub-prefect of Ambam. The cocoa buyer revealed that "the sub-prefect threatened to seize the cocoa for auctioning”.

According to him, "we started to plead with the administrative authority, offering him a sum of 100,000 francs Cfa as a first step. He refused and demanded 500,000 FCfa.

After several plea, the vehicle and its occupants were taken to the gendarmerie brigade of Meyo-Centre. Timothée Bisso Eto’o then increased the money to 200,000 Cfa francs but he clinged to his demands of half million.

Not satisfied, he held back parts of the vehicle and its occupants and demanded that they be thrown in a cell. The vehicle and its cargo are held at the gendarmerie brigade of Meyo-Centre.

But the occupants of the vehicle managed to escape. When they return the next day, they found out that the 21 bags of cocoa that was in the pick-up had disappeared. Timothée Bisso Eto’o then filed a complaint against the sub-prefect.

When a journalist visited him in his office to find out what really transpired, the sub-prefect was surprised that after only a few hours, the matter was in the press. "I have no comment to make. The judicial process takes its course. If they feel that I asked for 500,000 FCfa, evidence is expected. ", argued the sub-prefect who indicated that the complainants are still expected at the gendarmerie brigade of Meyo-centre.
