Recently, Ambassador Michael S. Hoza hosted a reception at his residence in honor of the outgoing Defense Attaché Commander John P. Scudi and new Defense Attaché Commander Sean Hays.
Both officers have professional backgrounds as aviators in the U.S. Navy.
The reception was attended by over 155 guests, including senior Cameroonian military officials and members of the diplomatic corps in Yaounde.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hoza lauded the service of Commander Scudi for strengthening the bilateral security cooperation of the United States of America and the Republic of Cameroon.
He again congratulated him for being bestowed earlier that day as a Knight of the Order of Valor (Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Valeur) by Minister of Defense, His Excellency Joseph Beti Assomo on behalf of the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul Biya.
The Ambassador welcomed Commander Hays and underscored the United States’ commitment to further strengthen our cooperation to support Cameroon’s leading efforts to combat and defeat Boko Haram so that the people of Cameroon can build a future of peace and prosperity through their own talents and ideas.
