On February 12, Ambassador Michael S. Hoza visited Rey Bouba in the North Region, where he was welcomed by a representative of Lamido Abdoulaye Aboubakary and members of the community.

The Ambassador’s visit included meetings with local officials, traditional leaders, security officers, residents of the region, and Cameroonian journalists who provided media coverage for his visit, to whom he underscored the United States’ commitment to partner with Cameroonians in their goals and efforts to promote security and combat wildlife trafficking.

“I have been honored by the warm welcome offered to me by the people, government and traditional leaders of Rey Bouba, and have been especially impressed by the celebration of Cameroonian cultural heritage observed by the residents of this region.

On est ensemble!” he said. The Ambassador’s visit to the North Region highlighted the United States’ priority to conduct outreach throughout the Republic of Cameroon.
