An alleged spy infiltrates Yaoundé meeting

A man of about thirty years, suspected to be a member of the Islamist sect Boko Haram has been apprehended thanks to secret camera at the meeting of experts to fight against this religious uprising born in Nigeria.

He was caught at the Congress Hall in Yaoundé, which housed from 5th to 7th February 2015, experts on the establishment of a multinational mission against Boko Haram.

The young man, a little less than the thirty was apprehended by the security at the meeting while the experts - for the bulk of the military from ECOWAS, Cemac force (those of the Lake Chad Basin Commission), the ECCAS of the African Union, and countries such as France, the United Kingdom, the United States and even Canada deliberated on the rules of engagement of the multinational force against Boko Haram.

The unknown man who was very active during the session drew attention to himself by the fact that he had no identification badge contrary to all participants, noted an official of security on condition of anonymity.

Questioned by the security, he asserted that he worked for the service of the Congress Hall which increased suspicion. Led to the work room, they found on him a note pad on which was noted first "meeting of...", a recording device, narcotics, Sim cards in the pockets, and identity cards. "It's my Director General who sent me to follow the meeting," he said.

Though it has not been confirmed that he is an element of the Islamist sect Boko Haram, the security of the meeting of experts who convened by the African Union at the request of the Member countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, suggested that it could be Boko Haram attempting to penetrate the meeting in Yaoundé.
