Cameroon announced to have discovered a large arms cache used by the Islamist extremist sect Boko Haram in the North of the country, near the border with Nigeria.
“Cameroon Defenses forces have discovered and recovered weapons and ammunition that were buried in a Bush in the Department of Logone and Chari, in the Extreme North", said spokesman of the army, Moussa Alamine on Cameroonian national radio, according to Koaci.com.
Nearly four bags of weapons have been discovered: 35 weapons of war, 31 cartridges and 1218 balls.
They have been found in the village of Blangoa, in the extreme North of Cameroon, an area that is considered a rear base of the Boko Haram movement where this group has led several attacks.
A Chadian national, Adji Isiaka, aged 25, was arrested at the military checkpoint of Waza with more than 15,000 dollars in his pocket.
He is accused of supplying the Islamist sect with weapons through Chad and Cameroon.
The Cameroonian army deployed in their numbers at the border with Nigeria, in the North of the country is multiplying actions in an attempt to curb attacks by Boko Haram.
