Association of Women Agriculture Engineers clocks 20

Representatives of the regional branches of the Cameroon Association of Women Agriculture Engineers gathered at the Chamber of agriculture in Yaoundé to celebrate their 20th anniversary during their General Assembly meeting.

The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie Therese Abena Ondoua, while presiding the event, saluted the public – private sector partnership with the association that is contributing in improving the living conditions or rural women.

The Women Agriculture Engineers have over the years trained rural women in the setting up of micro enterprises, transformation of farm produce and the production of high yielding breeds.

The association has also served as nursery Women Agriculture Engineers who have been promoted to top functions at home and abroad.

One of the founding members who has been Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Clementine Ananga Messina, used the occasion to outline partnership with other ministries as well as measures by her Ministry to assist rural women and youths involved in agriculture.

The Minister of Livestock Fisheries and animal Industries was also present at the occasion which was marked by a mini exhibition of some of the improved breeds and transformed farm produce.
