Avi Silvan makes a contribution to children in need

The Avi Silva Foundation is a non-governmental Organization created to support children with special needs.

The NGO founded BY late Colonel Avi Silva Abraham of Israeli Nationality, who died in Cameroon in November 22nd 2010 has donated gifts of worth 10million FCFA to the Centre d’Accueil des enfants en Detresse (CAED) in Yaounde.

The Minister of Social Affairs Catherine Bakang Mbock, handed over donation to the Director of the Centre Judith Belibi in the presence of the Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon Nadav Cohen and other state officials.

While handing the donations, Mrs. Catherine Bakang Mbock laid emphasis on the importance for the children to receive parental love, education, good health as a universal right.

In a guarded tour in the premises of the centre, Minister Catherine Bakang Mbock visited the dormitories where 36 of these children some with malfunctions are lodged.

With ages ranging from 0-17, 31 of these children have been abandoned, 3 others are orphans, while the others are from mentally deranged or imprisoned mothers.

The least and new comer in this Centre is a 2weeks old baby, Angel abandoned just three days after her birth at the Efoulan Neighbourhood, in Yaounde.

The gifts from the Avi Silvan Abraham Foundation are made up of fans, washing machines, piano and a fifteen seat bus.

According to Madame Catherine Bakang Mbock, the bus will ease movement of officials and children of the Centre all in a bid to enhance social interaction among the traumatized kids.
