BTS examination underway nationwide

Some 14,950 candidates for the 2016 Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) examination yesterday, June 13, 2016, nationwide started sitting for the written part of the examination which will end next Saturday, June 18 depending on the course chosen. The practical part of the examination ended last week. BTS is equivalent to the Anglophone Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate.

At the Yaounde II subdivision BTS centre situated at the Siantou Higher Institute of Business and Technological Sciences, serenity characterised the environment as over 2000 candidates sat for the examination in different centres in the subdivision.

At the Siantou Institute located at the Coron neighbourhood in Yaounde, examination invigilators and the forces of law and order were seen around the different examination halls to pre-empt disorder and examination malpractices.

At the Coron examination centre, the chief invigilator who opted for anonymity said the examination began at about 8:30 a.m., 30 minutes behind schedule.

Candidates were seated at most two a desk with each candidate occupying the extremes of a desk. Although some candidates were late to get to the examination hall, two candidates at the Coron centre had identification problems and were not allowed access into the examination hall since they could not identify themselves.

The head of invigilators at the centre sent these two candidates to go and establish a national ID which will permit them write the rest of the examination.

For six hours, candidates answered questions on Epreuve Professional de Synthèse (professional summary writing) which consists of answering four questions from your departmental courses.

Today, candidates will continue answering questions in the English and French papers.
