Baby’s body discarded in a mechanic workshop

Inhabitants of Soboum, located at the Douala III municipality are still in shock after discovering the lifeless body of an innocent baby in the boot of an old car, July 2.

According to eye witness account, the baby’s body was laid in a carton and place in the boot of an old vehicle in a motorcycle repair workshop at Soboum.

On Friday morning, the manager of the workshop opened the boot to collect some working tools, he saw the carton and did not check the content. As he opened the boot a second time, he discovered blood dripping beneath the carton.

He drew the attention of other mechanics that then opened the carton and discovered the lifeless body of a helpless baby boy. The workshop manager immediately notified the Judicial Police at Bonanjo while elements of the Fire Fighting Brigade took care of the corpse.

A lady suspected to have carried out the act reportedly disappeared the night the baby was dumped.
