Officials recently appointed to the University of Bamenda (UBa) have been commissioned with a strong called to honesty, sincerity, assiduity, creativity and team work.
Under the strength of two presidential decrees signed on February 3, 2014 and the ministerial order of November 21, 2013, Professor Victor Julius Ngoh was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Teaching Professionalisation and Development of Information and Communication Technologies (DVC/TIC), while Professor Nsamenang Augustine Bame takes command as the new Director of the Higher Teachers Training College (HTTC).
Professor Fokunang becomes Director of Students' Affairs and Dr Bouobda Hermann Désiré is the new Vice Dean of Programmes and Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Science, respectively. While commissioning the newly appointed officials, the Vice Chancellor of UBa, Professor Tafah Edokat Edward, told them it was high time to work for the growth of the "baby University."
He cautioned them to remain focused and work for the development of the university. He remained confident that his new collaborators have the required qualifications to meet up with the tasks assigned to them. He said it is only through collaboration that the budding university can achieve the so many projects of high scale and complexity.
Prof Tafah Edokat Edward did not mince words when he reminded the officials that their achievements will be judged not by their strength to serve but by the visible legacy they would have left in UBa. He tasked them to develop new pathways, implement critical strategies and establish key metrics to meet up with UBa's vision of becoming a leading national institution of higher learning towards meeting present and future developmental challenges through efficient research and innovations.
