Basic Education: Final year pupils sit national exams

About 92,000 pupils have written the 2015/2016 session of the Government Common Entrance Examination this May 17, 2016.

To ensure the successful unfolding of the exercise, the Minister of Basic Education, Youssouf Hadidja Alim visited five examination centres in the Mfoundi Division.

At the end of the tour, the Minister was visibly impressed, saying the exercise was hitch-free.

Meantime, over 42.000 candidates sat for the Conquours d’Entrée en Sixieme, the French equivalent for the Government Common Entrance.

In Yaounde, the Inspector General at the Ministry of Secondary Education, Souley Daouda was at six examination centres to evaluate the writing.

The Inspector General lauded the security measures enforced by chiefs of centres of the schools hosting the examination.

After both exams, the pupils will write the First School leaving Certificate and the Certificat d’Etudes Primaires to obtain a pass into secondary education.
