Bishop Bushu visits Limbe Cath. Francophone Community

The Bishop of the Dioceses of Buea, His Lordship Immanuel Bushu recently paid a visit a maiden visit to the La Communaute Chretien Catholic de Limbe(CCCF) translated in English as the Limbe catholic Francophone Community and celebrated The Solemnity of the body and blood of Jesus Christ, with the over 1500 Christians that now make up the Catholic Christian population in Limbe.

Bishop Bush unused the occasion to carry out the confirmation of over 84 Christians out of the initial 88 that had been earmarked for the occasion.

The readings taken from Deuteronomy; the Epistles of Saint Paul to the Corinthians and the Gospel of Saint John centered on the significance of the Eucharist.

In the most didactic of manners enhanced by his interactive approach, Bishop Bushu projected in a holistic manner the power of the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

Just like we eat physical food every day to sustain our physical bodies, the body and blood of Jesus Christ sustain our spiritual lives and keep us in one body with Christ.

Without it, we have no contact with God. It is, therefore, not surprising that Christ commanded us to eat his body and drink his blood before his departure.

At the end of this colourful Holy Mass, the Catechist of the Holy Trinity Parish, Bota and the Holy Family Parish, Newtown, thanked His Lordship for eking out time to pray with them despite his very busy programme.

They equally thanked the host Parish Priest, Rev. Father James Kang for his wonderful assistance and contribution to the success of the occasion.

Commenting during a press briefing, Bishop Bushu said the growth of the CCCF in Limbe has been very impressive; he praised the work done by Rev. Father Yonta Maurice and called on the young priest to continue in the same vein without relenting.

The Bishop called on Christians to belong to small Christian groups because as he puts it, belonging is a way of manifesting our faith.

Harping on the issue of the acquisition of land for the church, the Bishop said as already explained by the President of CCCF, Nkouami Robert and Rev.

Father Yonta Maurice, negotiations were moving towards the right direction.

Rev. Father Yonta Maurice on his part explained that the Christians were now prepared to face the many challenges.
