The Apostolic Nuncio urged faithful and the religious to live a consecrated life. The 39th annual conclave of Bishops of Cameroon was held in the diocese of Batouri from 9th to 16th January 2016. This was revealed Saturday at the close of the 38th seminar held in the diocese of Nkongsamba from January 10- 17.

The ceremony ended with a mass celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Guinea Equatorial Archbishop Piero Pioppo.

The first reading was taken from the book of Ephesians and it called on Christians to put in all energy to fight the forces of evil, they were also invited to be fervent in prayer.

The Nuncio also mentioned St Mathieu: Christ recommends keeping his commandments and turning your back on the material things to anyone who wants to have eternal life. In this regard, the Nuncio took the example of St Antoine, who dedicated his life to the Lord. Bishop Pioppo also returned to the main theme of the 7-day seminar, "consecrated life".

For him, it is a prophetic sign of real life that comes from God, declined sign in peace, reconciliation, engagement. This is the life to which all should aspire, men and women. "Christ is enough to satiate us. We must live through him for him and with him, "he insisted.

Bishop Dieudonné hope Atangana, Bishop of Nkongsamba thanked the Almighty for all his mercies. The prelate also thanked all those involved in the proper conduct of the work. Bishop Samuel Kleda, Archbishop of Douala, president of the Episcopal conference, bearer of the message of his colleagues, returned to the situation in the far North and East.

Barbaric acts are perpetrated against the population. "We condemn strongly these acts, we also welcome the efforts of the leaders for the protection of our country," he said. The prelates advocated, on this occasion vigilance, unity, mobilization, refugee protection. "Nothing is lost with peace but all is lost with the war," said the bishops.
