President Paul Biya of Cameroon (81) and his Gabonese counterpart Ali Bongo have agreed to form a common front against the Anti-Balaka rebels fighting the government of the Central Africa Republic.
The Anti-Balaka rebels frequent incursion into Cameroonian and Gabonese territories have prompted both leaders to seek common ways and means of helping the government in Bangui.
Speaking after meeting the Cameroonian leader at his Yaounde palace, the special envoy from President Ali Bongo, Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet, told local media that Cameroon and Gabon enjoy very cordial relationship built on solid foundation.
The Gabonese Minister for Regional Integration charged with relations with "Francophonie" observed that the situation in the Central Africa Republic is badly in need of a regional solution which explains why he made the trip to Yaounde.
