Biya bids Algeria Ambassador farewell

The head of State also received in audience Tuesday at the Unity Palace, Milat Toufik, Algeria Ambassador to Cameroon. At the end of a five-year diplomatic mission in Cameroon, the Ambassador of Algeria, Milat Toufik yesterday was received by the head of State, in a farewell hearing.

After the hearing, the Algerian diplomat told the press that it was, "a pleasure and an honour" for him to have visited, twice, the Unity Palace in a short period of time.

More importantly, he had some exchanges on Thursday, 8th January with the head of State as Dean of the diplomatic corps, on behalf of the heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited to Yaoundé.

The hearing gave rise to an overview of bilateral cooperation. Based on his assessment, it was a fruitful discussion. He hinted that the bilateral cooperation has been strengthened in recent years.

As for economic plans, he mentioned frameworks of trade opened through the Organization of an Algerian specific fair in Cameroon, reciprocal participation of Algeria and Cameroon at Promote and businessmen at the international fair of Algiers. These actions, in the opinion of the diplomat, helped to intensify the exchanges between the two countries.
