The President of the Republic, Paul Biya concluded his stay in the U.S capital with an audience with the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman.
Ms Sherman, at the head of a seven-person delegation told journalists after the 30-minute exchange that she had come to extend her gratitude to the Head of State for not only for personally participating at the U.S – Africa summit, but also for his contributions to its success.
She said she had also used the occasion to reiterate the need to properly address security issues, acknowledging the contribution of the President of the Republic in the search for solutions to such issues in Africa.
It is significant to note that the delegation received by the President was composed of the close team that President Barack Obama set up to organise the summit.
One of the members was the immediate past Ambassador of the U.S to Cameroon Robert P. Jackson who know serves as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Of State for African Affairs.
