The Chairman of the SDF, John Fru Ndi, Saturday, added his voice to those of Southern Cameroons Lawyers rebuking the Biya’s regime for abandoning the bilingual and bi-jural system of Cameroon. He was speaking during deliberations marking the kick-of of his party’s silver jubilee celebrations at the Yaounde Hilton hotel.

“This regime does not even pay attention to sensitive issues like its multicultural rich heritage which has been trivialized by tribalism, its bilingual history which is questioned by marginalization and its bi-jural system that has been neglected much to the dissatisfaction of a section of the country.” Fru Ndi said.

He observed that when the SDF started preaching a return to federalism in Cameroon as a way of ensuring equal and balance development, where the Cameroonian people choose from the options of a two state, four state or a ten state federal system, the Biya’s regime went out and poisoned the minds of Cameroonians saying that the SDF wanted secession.

Reacting to popular opinion that he (Fru Ndi) is winning and dinning with the CPDM and that he is receiving money from the Biya’s regime, Fru Ndi described the allegations as “desperate attempts to undermine our strength and popularity and tarnish the image of the leadership.”

“What is true is that I have compromised neither our vision nor our mission and in your hearts you know that is true.” He added.

The SDF leader criticized what he described as discriminatory investment policy of the gov’t in which

big development projects are concentrated in one part of the country, saying it tantamount to apartheid in South Africa in the 1990s.

The Yaounde Hilton Hotel event was only one in a series of activities to precede SDF’s grand anniversary rally to be held and led by Fru Ndi at the Bamenda commercial avenue, May 26.
