President Paul Biya has donated foodstuff to the defence forces fighting Boko Haram in the Far North.

The consignment of fresh foods was handed over to the soldiers by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence in charge of Ex-service Men and War Victims, Koumpa Issa.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony that took place in Maroua, Mr Koumpa Issa qualified the gift made up of fresh meat, chicken and fruits as “special” intended to boost the morale of the army.

Receiving the donation, Colonel Kogi, emphasised on the timeliness of the food that comes in at the peak of the dry season in the region.

The colonel also affirmed that the donation will help give strength to the fighters as he will ensure quick transmission to the intended quotas.

The handing over ceremony was also an occasion that the donor used to pay tributes to Cameroonian fallen soldiers fighting the Boko Haram war.
