Biya's 32 years anniversary: Senior officer fired

In the aftermath of his 32nd anniversary of the supreme judiciary, Paul Biya the head of State, signed a decree relieving a senior officer of the Cameroonian armed forces of his duties.

"The colonel, Menye Blaise Hilaire, Chief of staff of the No. 1 military Region unit, from the date of signature of this Decree is relieved of his duties and placed at the disposal of the Chief of staff of the army."

This is the full content of the decision of the President of the Republic who also urged the Minister delegate to the Presidency responsible for defence and the Minister of finance to make provisions for the application of this Decree.

While awaiting to know the reasons for this heavy sanction, note that the said officer was on August 19, 2011 promoted to the position of Chief of staff of the army.
