Biya writes to Obama on Muhammad Ali

The purpose of this correspondence is related to the death of the boxing legend Muhammad Ali, died on the night of Friday, June 3, 2016 of an illness.

Absent from Cameroon for nearly two weeks, the Head of State, Paul Biya has addressed this Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from his European “short stay”, an official telegram to the US President Barack Obama.

“Mr. President, I have learned with emotion, the death of Mr Muhammad Ali, former champion of boxing, occurred in Phoenix from an illness. I salute the memory of this legend of the noble art who marked his time with his style. In these painful circumstances, I extend to you and to the bereaved family of Mr. Muhammad Ali, my sincere condolences.

Please accept Mr. President, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration, “wrote the President of Cameroon.

The funeral of the American triple heavyweight world champion will be held in the US on Friday, June 10, 2016.
