Battles in the localities of Amchide, Banki, Fotokol, Makambara, and Djokana (Far North region) have left eight soldiers of the BIR unit dead.

These deaths were recorded after new raids into Cameroon were made by Boko Haram recently in the Mayo-Sava.

20 civilians lost their lives in the incursions too.

The assailants attacked while the match between Cameroon and Sierra Leone was taking place in Yaounde.

Chinese news agency, Xinhua, reports that close to 200 Boko Haram fighters were also killed by Cameroon’s Armed Forces in similar attacks around Amchide.
