Forest and wildlife programmes observed

Ngole Philip Ngwese Minister for Forestry and Wildlife (Minfof), urged colleagues to engage in the accomplishment of a three-year project at a seminar on Thursday in Yaounde.

The Minister unveiled crucial programs that should be executed in the coming months with the focus on, 'The future, we must resolutely consider together, with a sense of emergency'.

The work at the seminar organized at the versatile Palais des sports in Yaounde on Thursday, brought together the heads of Central and decentralized Ministerial Department services who focused on the theme: "the strategy of performance for a proper closing of the first programme budget at the Ministry of forests and wildlife.

A meeting that helped Minfof to remind his staff of related objectives in these various programmes made in the final year of the first triennial programme.

They focussed on the development and renewal of the forest resource, secure, and enhance wildlife and protected areas and also, the recovery of timber and non-timber forest resources. The last program is piloting, institutional management and governance of the subsector.

For Minfof, an emphasis will be placed on the ability to combine the Symphony with the overall objectives of the Government.

Specifically, the first program is called to follow the execution of the construction of the headquarters of the Ministry, as well as building to house the Commission of Central African forests (Comifac). The selected program is designed to control and monitor reforestation activities.

With regard to the third programme, it comes to deploy the emergency plan for the security of protected and maximally capitalize on partners supports. The last programme focuses on the implementation of the internal market for wood.
