Boko Haram insurgents have slain ten people between Wednesday and Thursday morning in four localities in Cameroon’s far north region, security sources revealed.
The assailants attacked Achigachia, a locality they have been regularly infiltrating in the last few months but also invaded Gougouro, Gnam-Gnam and Blangou, much of which was burned down.
The latest attack, which follows a series of barbaric acts for more than two months, occurred while the Chadian army contingent, on the spot for ten days on Thursday began its deployment to Fotokol, another area battered by the activities of the Jihadist movement.
The day before the deployment, seven rockets allegedly fired by Boko Haram fell in the area, causing panic among the remaining inhabitants who decided to stay in the place now deserted by much of the population.
Security officials said that the task of the defense forces is now even more complicated since the sect recruits bomb makers and informers within populations, who blend easily among civilians.
