Members of the sect Boko Haram have explained the reasons for the deadly attack in Kolofata.

On August 1, 2014, a delegation of four Cameroonian soldiers led by Captain Hassan Ndjida met with elements of Boko Haram in the Cameroonian town of Kamouna, in the Borough of Hilé Alifa, half a mile from the main base of the sect located in Saguir in Nigeria.

The delegation from Cameroon discussed ways to reclaim possession of the bodies of Cameroonian soldiers killed on the battlefield at Bargaram July 24, 2014 and in the ambush at Kamouna overnight.

Indeed, the withdrawal of the army's sector, July 25, 2014, helped the sect to keep under its control a few small villages returned to Cameroon after the international verdict of the Court of justice (ICJ) in the case of Bakassi, including Kamouna.

The 'humanitarian contact' on August 1 2014 resulted in the return of 4 bodies, while ten others are still in the hands of the sect at Kamouna, it seeks in Exchange, according to members of the delegation of the army, the release of one of its members detained in Kousseri.

The sect even expressed readiness to also return vehicles seized at Bargaram. So far, only 9 bodies of Cameroonian soldiers have been recovered by the army since the events of Bargaram and Kamouna.

However, beyond the return of the bodies, the members of the Cameroonian delegation especially retained a few digressions from the elements of the sect. The most interesting is the attack on July 27, 2014 Kolofata.

"They justified the Kolofata attack by the fact that the Deputy Prime Minister Amadou Ali has failed in his commitments. They indicated that in the negotiations that led to the release of three religions of Tcheré (31/5), Amadou Ali had made a commitment to release 25 of their members.

And while they waited, some were rather heavily condemned by a court. They felt that they have been betrayed," says a source. The Kolofata attack occurred three days after the convictions by the military court of Maroua of 22 members of the sect.

In any case, the explanation provided by officials from the base of Boko Haram at Saguir to the Cameroonian military proves that the sect organized and perpetrated the attack in Kolofata in which 14 people were killed in addition to the other 17 abducted alongside the wife of Deputy Prime Minister Amadou Ali.
