Several Nigerian sect fighters are reportedly camping in a Cameroonian village 17 km from Fotokol. Since the night of March 7, 2015, hundred of fighters of the Boko Haram sect are reportedly visible in the Soueram village 17 km from Fotokol.

According to a witness from the village, fighters possess two armoured vehicles and seven pickups filled with fighters and arms.

"The people of the village are fleeing the place. Even our Fotokol brothers have all closed and left for either Maroua or Kousseri," noted Hasan Issa, a fugitive who has taken refuge in Maroua.

"We believed that the Chadian troops installed in Gambaru Cameroonian border would hunt these bandits down, but so far they have not arrived. Surely the Cameroon aviation will come to dislodge them. I'm afraid that the militants will massacre those who are left in the village," said Issa.

In the attack the terrorist sect launched in Fotokol, in the far North last February, the terrorists left the city completely devastated with hundreds of civilians killed during their murderous offensive. Thirty 15 Chadian soldiers also lost their lives.
