A young man named Onana enjoyed a perfect love relationship with his girlfriend Enyegue.
The two lovebirds had over 5 years of intimate companionship. Onana, like any good young man, supported Enyengue and her parents. Finally, they decided to marry. The parents of Onana, as it is customary, sent the traditional Palm wine, a few pigs, bags of rice and oil palm for dowry.
The marriage date was set for September without a problem. Onana, lavishly spent on his bride, carried out shopping for her brothers and sisters. The mother of the bride also had his share of gifts. But, at the approach of the date of the marriage, Enyengue said that his Dad needed a flat screen TV and a grinding machine and Moulinex for her mum.
This was postponed for a week but, before this date she had asked for other new conditions. She required a phone Samsung Galaxy S4, a laptob and strings of Dolce Gabana brand. Onana and his parents managed to meet half of the demands of the young lady but not those of her parents.
The new date was set, and Onana was compelled to make other wedding cards and bring his mother from Akonolinga. Some parents and relatives came from Ngoumou for the wedding.
On the morning of Saturday, October 4, 2014, while everyone was getting ready to go to the Town Hall, Enyengue got more demands from her dad.
The parents of Onana, went to court pending the arrival of the bride and groom. The bride and groom finally arrived at 12: 00 instead of 10: 00.
A few minutes after the reading of the passage from the civil code which requires the consent of the husband, Onana responded with a yes.
When the mayor came to Enyengue, she rose removed her shoes and took off from the scene at the sight of the many guests and the two families, helpless Onana ran after Enyengue. He was forced to let her as he could not catch up with her.
The question posed by everyone was how the father of Enyengue could demand so much besides the dowry of his daughter.
It seemed that many other people had denounced his behavior whenever he offers one of his daughters in marriage. Father of eight daughters, it is his eighth shot and each time, he repeat his usual ploy. But nobody imagined that he could do the same thing with his daughter Enyengue, the youngest of the family.
